ACCT 2301: Principles of Accounting I (2-2-3) Accounting concepts and their application in transaction analysis and financial statement preparation; analysis of financial statements; and asset and equity accounting in proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations. Introduction to cost behavior, budgeting, responsibility accounting, cost control, and product costing. Prerequisite: DMTH 0200
GOVT 2305: Federal Government (3-0-3) Introduction to the theory and practice of politics and government in
America at the national, state, and local levels, with special attention to Texas. Topics include political theory, the American and Texas
constitutions, federalism, political participation and elections, the institutions of government, and domestic and foreign policies.
Prerequisite: READ 0200 or equivalent as determined by placement test or equivalent test.
GOVT 2306: Texas Government (3-0-3) Introduction to the theory and practice of politics and government in America at
the national, state, and local levels, with special attention to Texas. Topics include political theory, the American and Texas constitutions,

HIST 1301: United States History I (3-0-3) Survey of the political, social, economic, military, cultural, and intellectual
history of the United States from the discovery of America to the present.
Prerequisite: READ 0200
HUMA 1301: Introduction to the Humanities (3-0-3) An interdisciplinary, multi-perspective assessment of cultural, political,
philosophical, and aesthetic factors critical to the formation of values and the historical development of the individual and of society. Students will
prepare and present both written and oral reports. Prerequisite: READ 0200
PSYC 2301: General Psychology(3-0-3) A survey of the major topics in psychology, introducing
the study of behavior and the factors that determine and affect behavior. Prerequisite: READ 0200.
PSYC 2303: Business Psychology (3-0-3) Survey of the applications of psychological knowledge and methods in
such fields as business, industry, education, medicine, law enforcement, social work, and government work. Prerequisite: READ 0200 or
equivalent as determined by placement test or equivalent test
SPCH 1311: Introduction to Speech Communication Theories and practice of communication in interpersonal, small group, and public speech. Prerequisite: READ 0200.
SPCH 1315: Public Speaking (3-0-3) Research, composition, organization, delivery, and analysis of speeches for various purposes and occasions Prerequisite: READ 0200.
SPCH 1321: Business and Professional Speaking (3-0-3) Theories and practice of speech communication as applied to business and
professional situations. Prerequisite: READ 0200.
